AN ENDLESS CYCLE OF NUTRIMENTS

Composting is quite popular in farms and gardens, an easy job that only requires a non-wood, non-metallic bin left close to the kitchen, preferably in the shade outside the house. Thereafter all organic waste can be disposed inside and be left to decomposition.

The purpose of all this is to produce ‘mulch’ that will take about one year to complete its chemical reactions and then be ready to mix with earth, soil or sand to be used as a natural fertilizer, containing active vitamins, minerals and other useful nutriments.. At this point you will be ready to grow quality foods without any chemical addition to your plantation.

But you also want to get the best results, so here is a short memo list of components: - Fruit and vegetable peels, seeds, except non-bio agrume peels which may contain ‘benzoide’ chemical additives,

- Egg shells, nut shells, raw fish bones and skin, plain coffee grounds and powder, ashes from natural wood fire (not painted, etc), leaves, branches of all kinds (not sick or treated).  Just make sure to add a layer of earth or soil to cover the whole and avoid too much moisture.
